About Us
Bernie Keppler, founder and CEO of NLP International has built several software companies in the past and has established successful cooperation with large, international software and hardware companies including AMA, Oracle, SAP, Bosch and others. He believes that MedLEE will substantially contribute to improve healthcare delivery and plans to build his new entity on the basis of the industry's top product and through close cooperation with a trusted and highly competent network of business partners in North American and beyond.
After the highly successful implementation of a business application by his former venture at the Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia UMC, Bernie Keppler was approached in 2008 by the C.I.O. of Columbia UMC with a request to evaluate his interest in commercializing a patented natural language processor application developed at Columbia's Department of Biomedical Informatics. Negotiations led to a worldwide, exclusive license for the Natural Language Processing engine MedLEE, subsequently founding NLP International Corporation.
Bernie considers the establishment of close and long-term trusted relationships with his team members and business partners equally important in building a successful company.
Guided by this commitment he is currently building a world class team of professionals. NLP International works closely with and receives continued support from Columbia and MedLEE's inventor. NLP International has already signed multiple licensing agreements with domestic and international healthcare IT vendors.
